Youth Ministry
Growing up my church had a very small youth group and did not prioritize youth ministry. I began volunteering in youth ministry during my junior year of university. I wanted to give other students the opportunity to enjoy and thrive during their experience at church, to give them opportunities I did not have so that they would value their faith and carry it with them throughout their lives. After serving for around 2 years as a volunteer leader, I was hired as a youth intern. In this role, I coordinated and planned all recreation activities for youth meetings and helped with various administrative duties. I continued to lead high school Bible studies and acted as a leader for various activities including camp and mission trips.
I served for a year and a half as the youth intern before being hired as the interim youth minister and served in this capacity for 2 and a half years. In this role, I lead, planned, and coordinated all youth ministry activities from weekend retreat events to weekly youth gatherings, from international mission trips to local service projects. I taught and led the majority of our Bible studies, planning yearly curriculum. I organized and established a life skills class for our students. I was responsible for all administrative duties including budgeting, scheduling, weekly newsletters, and social media posts. I have over 7 years of experience working with youth, and my favorite part has always been building relationships and growing with the students.
